"I have spent 2 years at the RiverFront Artists studio doing monochrome sketches. Yet favorite medium is oil paint. I rarely bring oil paint to the studio. Instead I bring simple materials like charcoal, chalk and paper to study form (using light to describe 3d shapes) and value (depicting shades of light and dark). I hope that the knowledge I gain this way will help improve my painting. I believe that color is most beautiful and meaningful when recognized in the context of value relationships."
